Medications and Other Products

While sterilization and vaccination are key, there are other environmental threats that may be harmful to your pet's health. Heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, is a potentially fatal disease that can affect dogs all over the country. After being bitten by a mosquito carrying microscopic heartworm larvae, the developing larvae will enter the bloodstream and migrate to the dog's heart. Signs of heartworm disease include coughing, swelling, labored breathing, exercise intolerance and fainting.

Fleas can enter your pet's environment in a variety of ways, and most often, the fleas that you are seeing today came from infestations that began weeks ago. Eggs fall from other wildlife into the environment, where they eventually become adults that latch onto your pet's body. Adult fleas remain with their host until they die, and it can take up to three months to gain 100 percent control over a flea infestation without proper treatment.

Our clinics offer medications and treatments to help combat both heartworm disease and fleas, as well a variety of miscellaneous products that can help to increase your pet's health. Read on for more information about our medications and other products below.
